Why Now?
Regarding the proposed change to eliminate required interim reporting for increases in earned income, ACOH wants to act now so families can start generating wealth as soon as possible. The next scheduled administrative plan revision is not until January 1st, 2024.
ACOH hopes to have these mid-year changes reviewed and approved by the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors in time to be effective September 1st, 2023.
Even four months of saving can make a difference for a family, especially leading up to the holiday season. Regarding the other proposed changes, ACOH seeks to codify PHA intent and formalize the procedure that already exists.
