Framework for an Equitable and Resilient Community

Albemarle County Equity Profile (2021)
The Equity Profile, co-authored by The Equity Center, a UVA Democracy Initiative for the Redress of Inequity through Community-Engaged Scholarship, and the Albemarle County Office of Equity and Inclusion, analyzes various conditions across demographic groups and geographic areas that contribute to well-being. The Profile also contextualizes the data from this snapshot in time within the county's history.

Albemarle County Climate Action Plan (2020)
In embracing its responsibility for leadership on climate action, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors has resolved to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas emissions by 45% from 2008 levels by 2030 and to achieve zero net emissions by 2050. This Climate Action Plan provides a framework for how Albemarle County will achieve its commitment to mitigate climate change. It will serve to guide staff initiatives and inform County programs, policies, capital investments, and partnerships with the community.

Albemarle County Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory (2018)
A greenhouse gas emission inventory is a method used by governments and other organizations to quantify their contribution to global climate change by estimating the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that result from activities or processes within the community or organization. In developing this inventory, we have followed the Global Protocol for Community-Scale Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventories (GPC)—a set of standards developed specifically for local governments.
